Taking time out each day to exercise is critical to my overall life quest. I have spent years being unhealthy, both eating and exercising.
Eating: I used to be able to eat a box of donuts for dinner. I would chase it with soda, lots and lots of soda. To get healthy, I swapped out my coke for diet-coke. Ok, not really the best way to get healthy.
Recently, I have been trying to kick my diet-coke habit. I was up to 3-4 liters a day. I have tried to swap it out for water and for the most part have been successful. I am working now on improving my diet, adding fruits and vegetables to my diet. I need to remove some sweets from my diet.
Exercise: I used to be in really good shape. I was able to run several miles a day. Now, I can’t make it a mile. I have tried the Zombies Run app and the Nike+ app. I like both of the applications. The Zombies Run app adds a really good story as you walk/run.
My new eating habits have allowed me to better fuel my body (and has saved me a lot of money as I am not buying as much soda). I have found that the exercise is really helping me to calm down after work. It allows me work off the stress of the day and build my stamina and strength.
